The hosts were very friendly, and their dinner suggestion, Lady PiPi right down the block, was great. It’s away from most tourist spots near the Stradun, which makes for a quieter night’s sleep. The room is high up the hill near the Buza Gate, with a great view across the Old City and the Adriatic Sea. Just be ready for a big climb to get “home” at night. Don’t try hauling your bags up from the Pile Gate! This is an excellent Sobe for two. There are plenty of stairs, as you’d expect in Dubrovnik. In an old house, the space, bed and bathroom were small but functional, about par for the course.

You really can’t beat the view, and the owners are the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Fantastic place to stay.

Getting up the stairs takes some effort, but it’s worth it for the view of Dubrovnik. The hosts were very sweet, and Lady Pipi restaurant is right next door. The view, the hosts and the restaurant were all excellent. If you’d rather avoid the stairs, you can go around the outside of the city walls.

From the second-floor attic room, you get a spectacular view of the walled city, with the Adriatic Sea beyond. You could almost expect a dragon to appear. The location is excellent. The host, whose name I think was Blobo, and his wife were a lovely couple. She saw us off with a refreshing drink made with orange and lemon.
