Studio Apartments Stradun

The little kitchenette, with pots, pans, cutlery and a small fridge, was handy for making meals since eating out in Dubrovnik Old Town is very expensive. The host was quick to respond and helpful. Our room felt cold in November, but setting the air con to 30 degrees Celsius made a big difference. I did miss having somewhere in the shower for shampoo and soap, instead of putting them on the floor. The location is a strong point. The building is just off Stradun (Main Street), on level ground, so you don't need to haul luggage up stairs to the apartment entrance. Pile Gate, the Old Town's lower gate and a meeting and drop-off point for tours and day trips, is a short walk away. Old Town has no cars. Our unit was on level 3, which some people call the second floor, and that may bother some guests, but it was fine for us. I hardly saw any Old Town accommodation with an elevator anyway. The room and bathroom were on the small side, as was the room itself, but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. For the location, it was still excellent value and, in my view, a very good option.

The owner was easy to reach and flexible when we had questions. I was there alone for a few days and found the small, clean room quite sufficient, with a modern bathroom. It sits right by Dubrovnik's Main Street, surrounded by shops, restaurants and sights. You can set the fridge and stool by the window to make a little place to work or eat, and the window opens fully for air and sunlight. The bar below stays open until around 1-2 a.m., so some might mind the noise. It didn't bother me.

That Irish pub next door kept us awake all night. The apartment is terribly run down, with no renovation for an awfully long time. The bedding and towels are old and threadbare. My dog gets better accommodations, lol. Pathetic!

Staying right in the middle of the city was an overwhelming experience. The apartment itself was lovely, looking out over Dubrovnik's main street.
