Sun Gardens Dubrovnik

The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable, but the decor and furnishings felt dated and tired. Some parts of the resort looked worn too and could use a refresh. The friendly, helpful staff made our stay more pleasant, and the waterfront setting, beautiful grounds, and wide Adriatic views were real highlights. It's peaceful and about a 20-minute drive from Dubrovnik’s Old Town. The resort is huge and clearly set up for conventions and large groups, so it often felt crowded. That scale took away from the intimate luxury feel I expected. With the dated rooms, visible wear, and overall size, the stay didn't match the advertised five-star rating. I'd put it closer to three stars.

We stayed here for a corporate work trip. The hotel is luxurious, with elegant, contemporary decor, and our room was spacious and comfortable. Staff were friendly and attentive, and there was a good range of vegetarian dishes. Most meals were catered, but we also ate twice at Cilantro, where the food was fresh and delicious. There are several pools, with plenty of towels and helpful staff. The beach has clear water and lots of sunbeds.

The breakfast had plenty of options, including healthy choices, but the food quality overall wasn't great. Service was fantastic, with attentive, professional staff. The grounds and facilities were pristine, with lovely sea views at sunset and ships passing by. The spa was especially wonderful, with several saunas, steam rooms and jacuzzis.

The view of the sea and little islands took our breath away when we arrived at Sun Gardens Dubrovnik. A bell-boy literally ran out with a sincere smile to take our luggage, and we felt that same warmth and professionalism throughout our three wonderful days. It's a modern, impressive hotel, and the breakfast buffet was outstanding. Thursday evening's live music was memorable too. The singer covered songs by Sade so beautifully, I thought she was Sade. I didn't swim in the sea because October temperatures aren't pleasant for me, but I enjoyed the spa and the lovely walks around the resort and nearby. I wholeheartedly recommend Sun Gardens Dubrovnik as a professional, friendly and unforgettable place to stay.
