Vila Curic

There are supermarkets, cafes, and restaurants nearby, and the number 6 bus from the nearby stop is handy for getting to the old town. We had a good harbour view from one bedroom, and the apartments are a good size. The place is clean and comfortable, and the staff are friendly and helpful. You can request a clean and fresh towels any day by putting a sign on the front door. I’d recommend it to most people, but the property sits atop a steep hill, so it may not suit anyone with mobility issues.

The apartments were very clean, and the beds were comfortable. The upper-floor rooms have very low ceilings. The beautiful beach is within walking distance, though the route goes up and down a very steep hill. Be careful not to lose your key: with the skeleton key system, losing one means all the keys have to be replaced, which could cost around 300 euros for something as ordinary as misplacing your room key on holiday. Luckily, we found ours. I hope management will reconsider the system.

There’s plenty of parking, and the gate and video surveillance made us feel safe. The pool isn’t the newest, but it’s a nice place to relax after a shopping walk. Rooms are clean and all have at least some kind of nice view. The kitchen is small, but has lots of pots, pans, and other utensils, enough to cook something nice. The bathrooms are very clean, too. Prices are good, and tourist bars, restaurants, two supermarkets, and a children’s playground are all within a 5-10 minute walk. Just be prepared for a steep climb back, about 60 metres up from sea level.

There were 13 of us staying for two weeks, and we all felt at home and well looked after. The staff were so friendly, and the cleanliness and service were brilliant, which helped make it a great holiday. Vila Curic was a great base for travelling around the area, with beautiful scenery to enjoy. Dubrovnik is well worth visiting, and Vila Curic is well worth staying at.
