Villa Leoni

The location worked really well, just a few minutes down the steps to Banje Beach and then on to the Old Town. The apartment was clean and modern, and had thoughtful extras: streaming on the TV, including their own Netflix, good air conditioning, dependable hot water, and hobs for cooking. The owner was friendly and very helpful. Our room was comfortable, but it looked different from the photos, including the view, which was mostly nearby houses, one of them being built or taken apart. Maybe some rooms are higher up or elsewhere, but ours wasn’t the one pictured. It would help if the Booking.com listing showed photos of each specific room, so guests know what to expect and aren’t disappointed.

My wife and I are staying at Villa Leoni for the first time. Yesterday we witnessed the guests behind four reviews with Chinese names, all copied and pasted, trying to deceive the owners. They took the owners’ iPhone and slipped it under the counter when the owners weren’t looking, apparently to make them think it had been stolen and call the police, then look foolish. Afterward, the owners watched the video and saw the guest take and hide the phone. The guest kept insisting they call the police so he could watch them look stupid when the phone turned up. This all started because he ran out of hot water one night, after apparently using up 800 litres. The tank heats again after 20 minutes. We could hear him complaining like an entitled, spoiled brat. The owners stayed considerate and friendly, even offering him another bathroom to carry on whatever he was doing with all that hot water. They never lost their cool. We got tired of hearing him whine. The apartments themselves are incredible, up on a hill with breathtaking views of the old town and great sunsets. It’s under a 10-minute walk to the old town. There are 225 steps down to Banje Beach, where the swimming is amazing, and from there you can walk to the old town. Or take the road down instead, which is a gradual incline and better in the heat. The large deck has loungers, a table, and chairs. The kitchen has everything you need, and the bedroom and bathroom are excellent. The bedroom has a view too, and the place is very clean. The owners are so welcoming and friendly, nothing is a problem for them. My wife and I stay in lots of Air BnB’s, and this is one of the best. Thank you! Our honeymoon stay was a really bad experience. The owner was aggressive, and we were asked to pay extra for the accommodation. The room was dirty, had cockroaches, and there was no hot water. The view didn’t match the pictures either. We couldn’t sleep because the owners were so loud and wouldn’t let guests rest.

The views from our apartment were out of this world, and the stairs back up from the beach and old town were a good excuse for another scoop of ice cream. Joseph was a great host, and the place was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We’ll come back. Thanks so much.
