The location has a few nearby beaches, though they’re reached by lots of steps. There are a few local shops, and it’s a steep ten-minute walk to the Old Town. Inside, the bathroom is under the stairs with a very low ceiling. The kitchen counters were grubby when we arrived, and there were lots of bugs even with the windows shut. At night, the see-through curtains let in too much light to sleep. The bed has an awkward shelf about a foot above your head. Shower pressure was great. Check-in was terrible: rude and a waste of time. There was no real checkout, I just happened to run into the cleaner as I left.

Our room was spacious, clean, and good value, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. From the balcony, we had a great view of the sea, the island, and the Old Town. The Villa is very close to Dubrovnik’s Old Town, about a 15-minute walk or five minutes by bus, with the bus stop right outside. We really enjoyed our stay.

The owner was really friendly, and there’s a lovely shared balcony where we could have drinks and look out over Lokum Island and the Old Town. We stayed for two days and three nights at the start of our Croatia holiday, walking into Dubrovnik and back each day. It was good exercise, but the distance wasn’t too much. The family room was very reasonably priced. We picked up breakfast at the shop a few minutes away, and had a kettle, microwave, and hob available. It worked well for a family.

The balcony has breathtaking views, and the accommodation itself was satisfactory. But the bed frame suddenly collapsed during the night and woke me up, and the shower kept overflowing, which was a nuisance.

Booking.com let me reserve a room for five people, but after the reservation was confirmed, the property messaged to say there’d be an extra €35 charge for the fifth person. That fee wasn’t mentioned while booking, which felt misleading and was very disappointing.
