Villa Orabelle

We celebrated our 10th anniversary at Villa Orabelle, and the team made it feel special from the start. They surprised us with champagne and a free upgrade to the stunning Penthouse Apartment, with its rooftop terrace and jacuzzi. The atmosphere was luxurious but still relaxed, and we appreciated the free parking. Our rooms were spotless and beautifully designed, more like a five-star boutique hotel than a four-star. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of à la carte choices and great service. The staff were professional, warm, and attentive throughout our stay. Villa Orabelle is a real upper-market gem for comfort, style, and wonderful hospitality. We can’t recommend it enough.

We had a great three-night stay. The staff were so hospitable, and the rooms were comfortable. The air conditioning worked well, and the bathroom products and hair dryers were high end. Dinner at the onsite restaurant was phenomenal, and breakfast was delicious each morning, with lots of good options. There’s a great beach nearby, and it takes about 20 minutes to walk to the Old Town. One thing to be careful about: we left our stuff by the pool while jet skiing for half an hour, and our sunglasses were stolen. I wouldn’t leave anything there again.

We’d asked on arrival what to expect on our last day, and were told we could use the hotel facilities and leave our luggage there. But at checkout, we were told to leave because the whole place was closing at midday. We had no idea that was going to happen. They seemed so focused on closing for winter that they forgot about their guests. At 11am we were left on the street with large luggage, waiting for our airport pickup at 5pm. We weren’t allowed back in to sit down while we tried to sort things out. It frankly ruined the last day of what had otherwise been an enjoyable short holiday.

The rooms are clean and modern, and the charging station has multiple connections for portable devices, including USB, USC, and a converter for 110-volt plugs. I also loved the rain shower and the usable shelves around the bathroom sink. We had complimentary breakfast throughout our stay, with good food and prompt service. I’d read another traveler’s praise for the chicken club sandwich, and they got it right. I ordered it twice! The views are hard to beat. Villa Orabelle overlooks the Adriatic Sea and a protected bay below the hillside. If you like poolside cocktails served by attentive staff, cabanas, and an infinity pool, it could be the place for you. There’s a set of steps down to the public swimming area, if you want to get your daily step count up, and I mean up! The beach has an awesome natural cave you can swim through.
