Istra Premium Camping Resort

The sunsets are gorgeous, and the restaurants on site were mostly excellent and well priced for the location. We loved the mix of things to do, from swimming pools and great beaches to water sports, football and boating. This place even exceeded the high expectations we had after reading other good reviews. The site is fantastic: clean, easy to get around, and everything worked well. The Bella Vista homes were very good, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The facilities are very high quality and clearly designed to make things enjoyable for adults and children, and the restaurant was excellent for breakfast and dinner. But Valamar's constant extra charges for services that should be basic are really disappointing. We're already paying a high price, yet pool towels cost €5 per person per day, and loungers on the private beach aren't included. I might understand that charge for outside visitors using a private beach, but we're staying at the same resort and paying customers. The washing machine costs €10 per load. Last year, children as young as two could be left at the kids club, while this year babysitting costs €25 per hour. I'm currently staying here, and I'm a regular Valamar customer who has previously stayed at Lacroma and Istra. With this aggressive pricing policy, I don't feel like coming back. It's a real shame when the establishment itself is excellent. Dear management, please stop treating customers like cash cows.

The place and staff are amazing, which makes the noise all the more of a shame. Every other day there was very loud live music on the beach opposite, with hard techno and live singers. We couldn't sleep before 2 am. On the other days, there was the Munich beer fest at the camping. After 5 days, the children were exhausted.

The kids especially love Maro Club, and the shaded, tree-lined paths are great for walks and bike rides together. We’ve stayed at this resort several times, in mobile homes and once in a villa with a private pool. The villa was spacious and nicely designed, and its pool was noticeably warmer than the shared children’s pools, particularly outside the main season. The spa was a lovely quiet break for the adults, too. Food has been consistently fresh and well prepared, with a Mediterranean feel. There isn’t a huge selection, but what’s there is satisfying and high quality. Out of season it’s much calmer and relaxing, though fewer activities and food options are available. The children’s pools can also be quite cold in May and September, so our little ones didn’t get as much use out of them. We’re Gold members, but our status hasn’t brought much recognition or many rewards, which was disappointing. Even so, we always have a great time at Valimar and are happy to return as a family. It’s a fun, relaxing holiday spot for us.
