Cast Away - Eco Village

The people are a big part of why we wanted to stay longer. Didier, the owner, is warm and gentle, and his staff help make the place feel welcoming. We also met lovely people there. We spent three days at Cast Away in late September, and it felt restorative for both body and mind. There’s clear turquoise water for swimming and snorkeling, hammocks for reading while watching the clouds, and an outdoor oven where you can make your own pizza. You can rent a kayak or hike along the relaxed southern Hvar coast. At night, the sky is full of stars, and you can see the Milky Way. It could fit nicely into a road trip to Bosnia, or a visit to Split or Dubrovnik beforehand.

Getting there takes some effort, but the remote, quiet setting is part of the reward. The terrace has a great sea view, and there’s all the comfort you need. I’d like to return someday for another relaxing stay. 😎👍 And the real Belgian beers are great too!

We spent a couple of evenings talking with people we’d just met on the lovely terrace, and honestly, we didn’t want to leave. Didier and the team are welcoming and fun, and the place is right on the beach with amazing views. It’s remote in just the way we wanted. I’d come back in a heartbeat. Book it if you can!

The huts sit right above a small private beach, and the whole area is wonderfully quiet. The staff were extremely polite and friendly, and the cocktails were awesome. Everything we needed was there, including a fully equipped kitchen with cooking supplies. The toilets and showers were clean, with enough of them for all the guests. We were lucky to join morning and evening yoga with Iva. It feels like a hotel beneath millions of stars, with something magical about it. We loved our stay and truly recommend visiting.
