Amfora Hvar Grand Beach Resort

We picked a room without a sea view and got a newly refurbished space with a comfy bed, modern design, a balcony, and pleasant views of thoughtfully planted trees and shrubs. The whole hotel was clean and well considered. The pool area was gorgeous, with little spots to lounge that felt private, plus a swim-up bar and friendly, attentive service that never felt intrusive. It's an easy walk to Hvar centre, while still feeling tucked away. Food, the lobby bar, and breakfast selection were all lovely. My only gripe was the breakfast coffee, but we had Nespresso in the room to keep me going. A fabulous place for our Croatia honeymoon, highly recommended.

Luka at the pool really stood out. He was warm, attentive, and always made an effort to look after guests, which made the stay even better. The rest of our visit was great too, with excellent facilities, comfortable clean rooms, and a pleasant atmosphere. I'd highly recommend the hotel.

The room felt rather small, and for the price the finish on the hotel-wide renovations should have been better, even though they look attractive. Still, the location is great and the hotel itself is stunning, with an amazing view. Everyone was friendly and the service was top-notch. Breakfast was very good, cooked well, and had a nice range of options. Shout out to Narisca.

The hotel is beautiful, with a great pool, lovely views, and a good buffet breakfast. It's about a 10-minute walk from town, and the staff help carry luggage from the port. In summer, follow the water rather than Google Maps, which sends you on a longer, hilly, very hot route. I wish the person receiving the bags had explained that. Service otherwise was friendly. If you arrive by ferry, several guests may check in at once, so expect to wait patiently. Taxi prices vary by company despite using what looked like the exact same van. The hotel called the 30 euro service; in town we found one for 20 euro, and others for 25 or 35. On checkout morning, two different housekeepers knocked before checkout time. I really didn't like that. There should be a way for them to know which rooms are still occupied.
