Our issue began when my mother, who was meant to look after our dogs, became ill with COVID late on 16.6, shortly before our trip on 17.6.2025. We contacted the host right away and asked if we could bring our two small, calm dogs. The listing said “your furry friends are welcome,” but she refused, saying there were other elderly guests. We felt she showed no empathy and made no effort to find a solution, suggest other dates, or offer compensation. After reading our last message, she stopped replying. She kept the cancellation fee. This is my reply to your reaction to our review after four months. Dear Miss Jagoda, I can hardly believe the lies and excuses in your response. The fact that you replied after four months says a lot. Airbnb reviewed the situation after I sent them our entire WhatsApp conversation, including your brief replies, what we saw as arrogance, and your later silence. They found your conduct unacceptable and refunded us in full. You claim you offered alternative accommodation. After two short messages in which we said we couldn't come, you stopped responding. You never offered to help us find somewhere else. You also said I was dishonest and suddenly wanted to bring the dogs, and that the listing said “small dogs allowed upon approval.” There was no such condition. You knew this was a crisis situation. You refused to let us come, stopped communicating, kept half our money, and continued offering the place for rent. You now say you lost all your money, but you don't mention that you cancelled the vacation we'd planned and looked forward to for four months, then unfairly kept half of what we paid. You didn't explain that to future guests, did you? People should know about this behavior. You may seem sweet and polite when things go smoothly, but when you had a chance to take money without providing anything, we felt your attitude changed. The case is closed for us: Airbnb checked the facts and refunded us in full. We wish you well, but please stop making false statements.
