Villa Stari dvor

The food was the highlight of our week at the newly renovated Stari Dvor hotel. Each evening, the young chef Tilen put together a fantastic three-course meal, playing with ingredients, textures, and flavors in a fun and tasteful way. I’d recommend half-board, since there are few restaurants nearby and the food really shouldn’t be missed. My wife and I stayed for a week. It’s a small hotel with only about 20 rooms. The place was clean, with minimalist, maybe Nordic-style decor. Soap and shower gel are provided, so bring conditioner if you need it. The beds were excellent, and we slept well with the quiet AC cooling the room. Staff were friendly and helpful. It looked like only six or so people were managing the whole place, and they seemed to cope well, though you could see it was a bit of a struggle. The breakfast buffet was basic but good enough for us. We did miss having yoghurt. Without a car, we hiked to nearby towns. The island is surprisingly green, even in peak summer heat. Plan your lunches, as restaurants are few and far between west and north of the hotel.

Breakfast had enough variety each day, and the dinners were outstanding in both taste and presentation. The hotel was comfortable, with friendly staff, spotless air-conditioned rooms, and free parking. Its location close to the beach was perfect. We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Stari Dvor and would love to return. It deserves its top rating.

The staff were so kind, and the food was amazing. It was just right for a peaceful getaway, and I’d absolutely recommend it. The playlist was an interesting choice, though. It could use a little refresh :D

We had a really pleasant stay in a clean hotel with a peaceful feel and helpful staff. One downside: pool towels cost extra, and there aren’t any rentals available on site.
