Guest House Family Varda Plitvice Lakes

We had the two-bedroom apartment and two double rooms in the main building for our group, and they worked perfectly. The play area was great for the kids, and we had a lovely evening by the fire in the snug after using the barbecue. Dinner from their menu on our first night was gorgeous. It’s close to the park entrances, in a lovely natural setting. There was a slight drain smell in the rooms, though I suppose that comes with being in nature. The family running the place always greeted us with a smile and were very helpful.

The quiet park and forest nearby made for a cozy setting, and the rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. The place was well equipped, with pleasant, helpful staff. Breakfast was excellent, and dinner was too, though you need to request your order beforehand.

For our weekend at Plitvice Lakes, this was a good choice, just a few minutes from Entrance 2 in a green setting, with parking in the yard. The family staff were friendly, and our room was clean, comfortable, and well equipped with a hairdryer, kettle, tea and coffee, refrigerator, cable TV, and free Wi-Fi. Breakfast was continental style, with a good range of local food and omelette available. The homemade honey was especially good. The refrigerator was a little noisy, but otherwise we had a great weekend and would happily return. There were also two cute kittens in the yard.

The room could use some improvements. The shower was small and had an old plastic curtain, and there was no window blind. The hall and corridor smelled bad, as if someone had left open the door to the nice balcony and rain had soaked the wood floor. On the good side, breakfast was nice, the staff were warm, and the garden and location for Lakes Park were great.
