We were left scrambling when our host canceled our reservation only 10 days before check-in and gave no reason. We’d planned the trip well ahead, so finding somewhere else at that point was both difficult and expensive. We’re very disappointed. This treatment of guests is unacceptable, and I can’t recommend it.
The balcony has a stunning view of the sea, and the area around B&B Milic is peaceful and scenic. It’s an easy walk to the beach, with supermarkets and restaurants nearby. Wi-Fi is available too. Our hosts were warm and welcoming, quick to respond and happy to help with any questions. For more things to do, you can take a bus into Zadar and arrange excursions there. I’d definitely come back with friends or family.
We only stayed one night, but the apartment was clean, nicely decorated and had a handy little kitchenette. The view was great too. The walls are very thin, though. We could hear the neighbor talking, moving furniture and even snoring :)
We had booked and paid for a modern apartment with a sea view through a booking platform, with our stay starting on 19.06.23. The platform confirmed it, and we called Ms. Milic again before arriving. When we got to Gornij Karin late on 19.06., Ms. Milic took us to a different place without saying anything first. It was very small, had old furniture, needed renovation and had a tiny balcony with no view. When we said this wasn’t the accommodation we’d booked, she said the platform had probably made a mistake and the booked apartment wasn’t available. She didn’t apologize or seem concerned. We wondered if this kind of “mix-up” had happened before. Ms. Milic hadn’t mentioned any booking problem when we spoke by phone, so making us drive 10 hours expecting a high-quality apartment, only to find it unavailable, felt completely unacceptable and unprofessional. We refused the replacement and, late that evening, found a hotel for the night and a very nice apartment for the next day. Thankfully, the booking platform let us cancel for free without any trouble. It still wasn’t the start to our holiday we’d expected. I want to warn other holidaymakers about this situation so they don’t get caught out by Ms. Milic.
The scenery from the balcony is beautiful, with the lake, greenery and sunset. It’s a peaceful place, and the rooms have fully equipped kitchens and their own toilets and showers.
