Avoid this place if you can. The rooms were filthy and full of insects, and the staff were extremely unfriendly, apart from two older waitresses. It was the worst experience I’ve ever had. I’d rather sleep in my car.

The restaurant was pleasant and served good local dishes, though it seemed short staffed. The riverside location is lovely, with places to walk right nearby. We’d stay here again when we return to Karlovac.

The worst part was the restaurant. The food was poor and the service was truly terrible. At 9 pm it was almost empty, but when we asked to sit on the terrace, the tables weren’t set. She only dressed ours after we’d received our first plate. Cutlery arrived a few minutes later, but no napkins, and there was another wait. I went inside so my Croatian wife could order a drink, and took napkins from a set table. That made the server angry. There was no wine by the glass, only by the bottle, and I even saw her sorting trash between our courses. The way she spoke and argued with customers was completely inappropriate. The pancakes were so tough they couldn’t be cut, let alone eaten. When we complained, she said she’d seen them being made in the morning. For a four-star hotel, serving pancakes made in the morning for dinner? Stay away from the restaurant. The breakfast was the opposite: a big buffet on the terrace, with a wonderful river view. The hotel itself is a beautiful old four-star place in a lovely riverside park. The rooms are large and have character, dogs are welcome for free, and it has what you need, including a minibar, air conditioning and Wi-Fi. But if you book a double room with one big bed, you get two separate beds pushed together, and they aren’t fixed in place. We spent the night falling into the gap. They should at least join them for a four-star hotel. The receptionist wasn’t very communicative, though she was around during the day to help with anything, which is what matters. Forget the swimming pool, it’s been “under reconstruction” for a long time. In summer, you can go straight into the completely clear river instead.

Our motorhome broke down, so we couldn’t make it to the hotel. We tried to cancel, but the hotel wasn’t willing to let us. They charged the full amount even though we didn’t use the room, have the bedding changed, get the room cleaned, or eat breakfast. They didn’t charge for any of those services, yet still kept the full payment. These hotel owners aren’t serious.
