Hotel Sirena

The room was comfortable enough, the balcony view was nice and the staff were friendly. The location was okay too. But housekeeping was awful: the floor was never mopped, and neither the sheets nor towels were changed during our seven-day stay. Breakfast was meant to run from 7:30 to 9:30, but the food usually didn't come out until about 7:45. The choice was very limited, usually cabbage as the only vegetable, boiled and scrambled eggs, yogurt, some cheese and the cheapest cold cuts. There wasn't much fruit, and food often ran out, so you had to get there first. It felt like breakfast at the cheapest café in Croatia. WiFi was very slow, and the TV only had one channel, a German one.

The nearby beaches and nature are beautiful, and the location is good. Our room was tiny, though clean. The minibar fridge didn't work, and the wardrobe had no shelves. Dinner was disgusting every day, while breakfast was quite okay. The only salads were cabbage and boiled beetroot. The air conditioning in the “restaurant” was broken, so eating there felt like sitting in a sauna. Management was really bad. Staff barely spoke English and weren't helpful at all. Parking was limited and cost 10€ per day, and the elevator was smelly and dirty.

The hotel's lovely surroundings and amazing view are real positives, and we did meet a few reasonable employees. Beyond that, our stay had plenty of problems. The TV and fridge kept failing, and the fridge seemed more like a heater. The dining area tables and floor were dirty, which felt unacceptable with Covid19 spreading in Croatia. Breakfast was the same every day, dry and made with very low-quality meat, cheese and other ingredients. The bread was okay. Parking cost 10€ a day if there was a space available. Otherwise, finding a spot nearby was a struggle, cost more, and there was no guarantee the car would be protected. This hotel could do a lot with its beautiful beach right next door, but it needs major changes in how it is run. Many post-communistic hotels in Croatia, not just this one, seem poorly managed and don't really care about customers and guests. It's a pity, because the coast is amazing. Thanks.

The location is handy, right by the beach, and the rooms are fine. There's a nice swimming pool and the staff are friendly. The WiFi is poor, though, and the food wasn't very good. Please take better care of the food and dessert quality!
