The host was kind and helpful, but that didn’t make up for the apartment’s problems. It felt neglected, with old furnishings and poor upkeep. Ants were all over the kitchen. The bathroom has no window, its fan doesn’t work, and the shower curtain hangs from a pipe that sometimes falls off. The double bed sags and isn’t comfortable. There are no blackout curtains, and the nearby bell tower rings loudly from as early as 7:30 in the morning.

Marija, the landlady, is always kind and willing to help guests when needed. The apartment is very clean, and the location is fantastic, right behind the cathedral in Korčula’s old town.
