Falling Lakes Hostel

We spent three nights here while visiting Plitvice. The town is pleasant enough, though there isn’t a lot to it. The hostel was very clean, the beds comfortable, and there was good hot water. The shuttle to and from the lakes was prompt and inexpensive, and the price felt reasonable for the location.

This hostel felt so homey that it reminded me of staying in a college dorm, in a good way. We had a great Plitvice Lake hike with other guests, and Natalia on staff gave us helpful advice on finding our way around the parks. There’s a grocery store nearby, and the full kitchen was a big help for long term backpackers. The common room was welcoming and made it easy to meet people. I loved my stay and wish I’d had time for another hike. It’s an out doors hostel, so plan around good weather. I’d love to come back!

The daily outings and activities were what made me stay longer. I’d booked two nights, then added two more after meeting such great people on the hikes, kayaking, stargazing, trivia and other events. I wish I could have stayed longer. The hostel itself is small, cozy, clean, and has a good kitchen and dining area. It feels like home, with a welcoming atmosphere from the moment you arrive. The staff are sociable and genuinely care about guests. A paradise for anyone who loves the outdoors.

The staff were really helpful, and it felt easy to settle in straight away. It’s a great spot for solo travelers since meeting other people comes naturally. The atmosphere is lovely.
