Villa Pura Vida

The house fits right into its surroundings, and the inside is so thoughtfully done I wouldn’t change a thing. We spent seven wonderful days there. The pool’s a great size, and sorting things out over WhatsApp was incredibly easy. The place is just wonderful, and I can imagine us staying at Pura Vida again someday.

There’s a lot to like about the house itself: it’s beautiful, the pool is a good size, and the outbuilding even has a ping-pong table. But the furnishings are very basic, especially for the price. We didn’t have enough glasses or kitchen utensils, the extractor fan barely worked, and the cheap dishwasher did a poor job. The washing machine smelled bad too. There’s no air conditioning in the downstairs room, and its adjoining bathroom smelled and had mold in the shower. The bathrooms also lack shelves and storage, so we had to keep our things in our toiletries bags. Unfortunately, that’s unacceptable at this price.

We loved the setting, close to everything but still private. Our group of 12, including 7 children, had loads of room, with space to get away for a bit too. The owner has a real knack for furnishing a home. It felt comfortable, and we had what we needed for cooking, relaxing, and having fun, plus plenty of seating and bathrooms. The pool was fantastic, and the table tennis in the adjacent house kept everyone busy. A holiday paradise, and a real insider tip!

The house, garden, and pool are beautiful, and the care put into every little decorating detail really shows. Walking through the door felt like stepping into another dimension. Everything seemed perfect, honestly, hard to put into words. I’d recommend it.
