Aparthotel Miramare

We really liked the pool area, and the location is excellent, near the promenades. The hotel itself was clean, with big, spacious rooms. The reception staff knew surprisingly little about the area, though, and the wait staff were rude at times. I’d come back, but I’d like to see a few things improved.

We had a spacious room with a sea view and balcony, and the cleaning staff did an excellent job. The gym was handy, though we didn’t use the pools or spa. Mornings could be very noisy because the marina is right across the water, and machinery working on boats often woke us up. Service was generally poor, apart from Goran, who was friendly, attentive, and went the extra mile. His colleagues were the opposite. We wanted to have breakfast outside, but the umbrellas were rarely open and the tables were left with dirty dishes. Pigeons swarmed over the tables and deck and bothered guests. Breakfast was below average compared with some other hotels on the strip, and the coffee machine usually didn’t work properly. Our largest window blind was broken and wouldn’t open to let in the sun or show the view. We were told each day it would be fixed, but it was still broken when we checked out.

The room was clean and in a great location, and we loved it. What upset me was the receptionist trying to stop me from bringing a friend to my room, saying guests weren’t allowed. I paid for MY room, and I believe I have the right to bring a guest. The receptionist was rude and nasty, acting as if she could decide what I could and couldn’t do. It left a very bad impression of the service. If they changed this policy, it could be a nice hotel.

We enjoyed our three nights here. The cooked buffet food could have been hotter, and there was loud noise from a bar or nightclub on Friday night.
