At €50 a night in season, the rooms felt old, though fair for the price. The guesthouse is above a restaurant, right on the promenade facing the port, and just a minute from the beach, so it’s a very handy spot for the main summer attractions. His wife, the cleaner, and some of the waiters were sweet and nice, but most people seemed to speak German and there weren’t many English speakers. The owner wasn’t nice at all and didn’t seem to care about guests, only money. He didn’t speak English, and never gave me an invoice for the payment, even though I asked.

The meal was fantastic, and the staff checked a couple of times that everything was alright and whether I needed anything. I picked this place because the owner and waiters were much friendlier than at the other restaurants, where people kept pushing diners to come in. Here, the owner just said hello and left me to decide.
