Olife delighted us. We'd asked for a vegetarian dish, and the chef made the most amazing risotto either of us has ever tasted. I mean it. We live in Italy and make our living guiding guests on cycling tours through Tuscany, so I've tried plenty, and this one beats them all. Olife Restaurant is under new management for 2022. It's worth walking a little farther along the Riva for a truly outstanding lunch or dinner. If you're after somewhere a little different that takes extra care, give Olife a try.

We all ordered the olife burger and agreed it was the best burger we'd ever had. There's a good range of drinks too. The restaurant is beautiful, nicely presented, and has a lovely outdoor seating area. The waiting staff spoke excellent English and were very friendly, and it was nice of the owner to introduce himself and chat with us.

The week felt like staying with family, thanks to Arian, Ante, and the rest of the team. We especially loved the seafront breakfasts, the incredible view, the art, and the jazz playing in the background.

Ante and the front desk team were considerate and very helpful, and we really enjoyed our sea-view room. The breakfast, though, was a letdown. The restaurant attached to the hotel apparently isn't owned by the hotel anymore, yet it handles breakfast. For the price, we expected more than cold coffee, empty trays, and such a limited choice. I hope the owner can work out better service with the restaurant, or I think guests may eventually choose somewhere else.

The main dishes were very good, but dinner at Olife restaurant left us with a poor impression. We waited at the entrance for a full 15 minutes before the waiter offered us a table. I was desperate to find gluten-free food, so we stayed. The fish and cheese cold starter wasn't worth the price, and no one explained why the onion chutney was missing, leaving the cheeses dry. Service stayed disappointing: the waiter was rude when he tossed the bill onto the table, and it was hard to get his attention while he chatted with colleagues behind the bar. For what dinner for two costs, I expected more.
