We spent a week here as a group of 6 and thought the villa was great. It’s comfortable, with air conditioning, a well equipped kitchen, plenty of bathrooms, and a lovely terrace and BBQ. The owners and management company were wonderful. One thing to know is that the pool is for a quick dip rather than proper swimming. The location on beautiful Brac is great, though the villa sits uphill from the coast, so it may not suit anyone with limited mobility. Local taxis are plentiful and fairly priced.

The owner is a gem. She greeted us with homemade bread, local ham and cheese, and even a posh umbrella and a crate of wood for the stove, which came in handy during the very wet, unseasonal weather. Her restaurant suggestions were spot on, and she helped arrange early morning yoga at Maruka. Daily maid service was included too, and we already can’t wait to return to this stunning villa on a beautiful island. Villa Maruka is an authentic, beautifully restored place in a quiet village, yet just minutes from Supetar or Sutivan. It’s very comfortable, with stone walls, marble worktops, lovely gardens, huge beds, air conditioning, underfloor heating and a heated spa pool. The terrace has stunning sea views. The indoor kitchen is a bit small, but the fridge is huge, and there’s a beautifully built traditional outdoor kitchen and fire, plus a herb garden you can snip from.

The house was spotless and comfortable, and the pool and outdoor area were beautiful. It felt like home, right in the heart of town among the locals. Sanja was a lovely, incredibly helpful host, and our adorable neighbor donkey was always glad to see us. We were there last fall, and it was absolutely wonderful, the best birthday present ever. We’d love to come back!
