The guesthouse was okay, and I was especially glad the bathroom had a fan. During our cycling trip, an older gentleman who worked at the restaurant angrily shouted at us for parking our bikes in the wrong place. We were trying to ask the staff where to leave them, but he kept shouting the whole time. A sign showing where bikes should go would help, especially since this was part of a trip organized through Epic Croatia and bike tourists often stay here.

We had a great stay, and the owner and staff were friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. The view from our room was superb.

The view across the island was the best part of our stay. The apartment was large, but the shower holder was broken and there were no toiletries, despite them being listed. There was no kettle either, and getting to the apartment meant climbing lots of steps. A restaurant is right underneath it. We stayed one night, which felt like enough for this quiet island.

The apartment had a lovely view over the village and sea, and the private parking was very useful in a small place with few spaces, even if the parking itself was rather dismal. Pomena is probably the best base for visiting the Mljet Lakes. Our apartment had air conditioning and a very small kitchen, but it wasn't tidied during our nine-day stay. The price was in line with other guesthouses in the area, which generally aren't cheap.

The views were fantastic, and the location was great. The accommodation was reasonable, but although the owners said they wanted to help guests, every question seemed to get the same answer: go to the hotel next door.
