Mljet feels like heaven, and coming back there feels like coming home to me. On our first night arrival, I saw the Milky Way properly for the first time. We found the owners' lovely flower-filled house in Saplunara and stayed a couple of days. They were incredibly kind, and the apartments were neat and clean. The owner goes fishing each morning and is happy to take guests out in a small fishing boat. The sandy beaches were uncrowded, with plenty of pine forest around them. I have beautiful memories tied to this place.

The apartment was clean and well equipped, and the quiet was wonderful, with only cicadas and crickets to hear. Saplunara beach is close by, and my children didn't want to leave. Neither did we. Ms. Ruza welcomed us with such warmth and kindness, brought us cakes, and gave the children lollipops. They also got a little island keepsake, some pretty seashells, hazelnuts, and a pine cone, which they've kept as a holiday treasure. I only wish we spoke Croatian so we could have talked with her more. Thank you so much, Ms. Ruza.

We had an unforgettable holiday in Milijet. Our room was spacious and clean, with simple furnishings, air conditioning, and a fridge. The lovely terrace was handy for putting together cold meals. Saplunara's big beach was about a five-minute walk away, with fine, talcum-white sand and a beautiful pine forest for shade. Two more lovely beaches are a few minutes farther on foot. Konuba Stermasi is very close, and we enjoyed its fresh seafood.
