Apartments Tomislav

The landlady was kind and kept the area around the house very clean. She also helped at the start by telling us what was worth seeing. The apartments are comfortable and clean, with air conditioning, a quiet setting, and a sea view from the terrace. However, they seemed smaller than the ad suggested, unless the listed size included the terraces and parking. There was no grill or washing machine, although both were marked as available in the ad. The host also seemed bothered when the children stomped, when it got noisy, and when we walked between apartments.

The hosts were friendly, the apartment was spacious, and the homemade wine and freshly grown vegetables made for a perfect stay. The kids were happy there too.

The moldy mattress made the bedroom unusable, so the four of us ended up squeezed onto the sofa bed in the living room. We shut the bedroom door because the smell spread through the apartment, and that also meant we couldn't use the air conditioning, which was in there. The bathroom water heater started dripping slowly, then more heavily, right above the toilet. We had to use it with water dripping onto us. We paid the highest apartment rate we've paid so far, but no alternative or price adjustment was offered. I might have let the problems go if the hosts had handled them properly. Instead, Mr. Tomislav kept contacting us about a TV issue that had nothing to do with us. The brandy offered as an apology was ancient. He first offered two free nights, then deleted the Viber message, and later said we'd get one free night if we came back next year. The accidents themselves were solvable, but the false apologies and the way we were treated turned everything into one humiliating, unpleasant experience. It nearly ruined our vacation, and we won't return.

The walk through the fields to the bay is lovely and takes around 10 minutes. The water is very clear, and the bay feels safe for swimming. A local fisherman told us that swimming out can often be extremely dangerous. There was nobody else there besides us and the fisherman. The beach is small, with large pebbles, and it gets a lot of shade and wind. It’s worth visiting, but those conditions mean we wouldn’t come back.
