Apartments and Rooms Gordana

We had a good stay, but didn't feel the listing gave us what we paid for. The host was friendly and very responsive, and I first gave the place two stars. I've upgraded the review since the host finally replied, though the outcome still wasn't what we wanted. Our main disappointment was the waterfront access. We chose this place partly because the listing advertised private mooring and direct access to the water, and paid more for it. In August 2023 there was a construction fence along the waterfront, limiting access, and swimming there didn't seem safe. We used a public beach a few hundred meters away instead, but that wasn't what we expected. We understand the host wasn't responsible for the construction, but the listing should have been updated or we should have been told. We'd booked only a few weeks before the trip, but construction had been going on since March, so it wasn't a surprise in July or August. After checkout, the host and I agreed on a small refund because water access was limited. He said he could handle it through AirBnB. When I followed up a couple of days later, he didn't respond for nearly a week, then refused to pay the agreed rebate. That left an unpleasant mark on an otherwise good stay. It's a nice spot near a beach, but the shared terrace faces a fairly busy little street by the water, in a party area. The apartment has just one window plus the door, so it gets dark if you want privacy. The construction also limited direct access. Ask the host about it before booking.
