I really can’t recommend this hotel. Several things don’t work, and the place doesn’t meet the standards of a 4-star hotel. There’s a construction site right next door, which affects guests’ comfort. During the day, the woman working at reception was definitely not friendly. The way she spoke to us was disrespectful, as if we were people of a lower class.

The restaurant was shocking: it was understaffed, plates piled up on tables, there was no cutlery or spoons, and the tea cups ran out. Dishes weren’t replenished in a timely way, and the room was so crammed with tables and chairs that people had to squeeze in to sit down. When I raised this with the restaurant manager, he was rude and dismissive, telling me to just enjoy my holiday. Service from staff was poor and rude in general. The hotel had broken handles in the bathroom and lift. There was a kettle in the room but no complimentary tea or coffee, and no entertainment or bar at the hotel.

We found a good off-season deal at Liberty Plaza Hotel in Novalja. The price was low, service was good, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. Our room was tidy, and the daily housekeeping was especially good. The room also had a lovely sea-view terrace. One unusual detail was the partly transparent glass partition between the bedroom and bathroom.

We had an air-conditioning problem in our room, but the staff moved us to another one quickly. Carlos was really friendly and shared some useful tips. The hotel itself is lovely, with equally lovely staff, and it’s in a great spot for the local bars. Highly recommend it!

Tommi made our stay easy and a lot of fun. The staff were great, and the rooms were modern and well equipped. The hotel is right on the beach path, and everything we needed in town was within walking distance.
