Pool Apartments & Rooms Mare

The nearest beach is a four-minute walk, though there are much nicer spots 10-20 minutes away by car. This residence has seven apartments and a pool. Six are in the main building; ours was separate but almost next door, giving a little independence while still being close to the pool, which could get lively at any hour, day or night. The bed in the listing was actually a sofa bed, reasonably comfortable, but that should have been made clear. The reception is two kilometers away, and they require a €300 cash deposit. We had our dog with us, and the €20-per-night fee seemed excessive for the service. For a week-long stay, I think that charge should be fixed rather than calculated per night, given the extra cleaning involved. The area is still developing, with villas under construction, unpaved roads, and garbage collection that could be better. Parking was tight and narrow. While maneuvering, I got a flat tire on the low, angular sidewalk. Checkout was set for 10:00 AM under the manager’s rules. The day before we left, I was asked to arrive half an hour earlier. I didn’t understand why, but agreed without hesitation. The guy knocked on my door at 9:15 AM while I was in the shower.

A dream of a place. I can only recommend it to everyone.

Quiet and great for a vacation, right on the edge of Novalja and close to the sea and the city. The apartments are new and there’s parking.
