Our main requirement when booking was a place that accepts pets, especially bigger dogs, and this stay did not end up being pet friendly for us. We never even saw the apartment we had booked, so this review is about the misleading booking experience, not that apartment itself. Before booking, we asked about bringing our dog and were told there would be an extra 10€ per day. A few days before arrival, the owner asked how big he was. I said he was medium-sized, around 25-30kg. She worried that a Studio apartment might feel crowded, but seemed reassured when I explained we live in a small apartment too and that he is house trained and doesn't climb on furniture. We couldn't cancel by then, so we came to the address on check-in day. Only when we arrived were we told the apartment owner didn't want us staying there with the dog. We were offered another place in Kastel Gomilica, roughly 20 km away, instead of on Ciovo. The woman said she had hoped the owner would change her mind before our arrival. We accepted the other apartment for the same price because it felt like we had little choice, unless we wanted to drive another 4-6 hours home. We were very disappointed this was only explained when we got there. We did appreciate the attempt to make amends: she treated us to dinner at her restaurant and allowed a late checkout. Still, the way the vacation began put a cloud over it. The other apartment was okay, but in a completely different location from what we had booked. The nearest beach was about a 10-minute walk, and it got quite dirty, especially in the afternoon, being next to a marina. In the end, the listing said pets were welcome, but that didn't seem to apply to larger dogs.

I would not recommend this. We had reserved two apartments for five people and a dog, with confirmation by phone and email. After our 7-hour drive, we were told those apartments had been booked, and they offered us one different flat for all of us instead. It had no hot water and only four beds for five people, but they still wanted to charge the same amount. They also said the dog would cost 30 euros a day, a fee they had never mentioned before. They said they had “forgotten” to tell us. The staff were very rude, and the owner never showed her face. The reviews on booking are apparently all written by the restaurant staff. It was a horrible stay and a horrible way to ruin our holiday. They lied to us, and the people were not nice.

Our holiday began terribly because they let us think the flat was booked, then sent us to another place in a different location. That flat had no hot water and fewer beds than we needed, so they just put a mattress on the floor. The service was awful and they treated us like a burden. We moved out the next day and only then started enjoying our holiday. This is a scam, I do not recommend it!

There was no wifi, even though the listing advertised free wifi. When I asked staff for help, they either said they couldn't do anything or told me to wait. Then suddenly they all disappeared, and I couldn't find anyone, even after checking other apartment rooms. If something went wrong, I had to deal with it myself. The location was also terrible, contrary to the listing. After four months of traveling in Europe, this was the worst accommodation I had visited.
