Villa More

Having the beach right at your doorstep was a huge plus. It's a pebble beach, so bring beach shoes, although the village has made gravel paths into the water that help with getting in. It was never especially crowded and was mostly families. There are a couple of great restaurants within walking distance, with others further away. You really only need a car for groceries. Driving the roads can be challenging if you're not Croatian. We rented Luxury Villas Trogir 1 and 2, also known as Villa More and Villa Sunce, so this review covers both. They sit at the western end of Okrug Gornji, with just a few houses and woods farther west. The village isn't as hectic as Trogir or Split, but we liked being at the edge of it. The houses are well built and equipped, though the kitchens are small. The shaded outdoor dining area was fantastic, with enough room for everyone from both houses at Trogir 1, the one closest to the beach. The pools were great. The steps in and out are steep, and there's no shallow end for small children, though ours seemed to manage fine. The houses are expensive, but worth it. You can fit a lot of people and stay comfortably. A few things could be better. There wasn't anywhere to put folded clothes, so shelves in the bedroom closets or dressers would help. Bathrooms and showers need shelves for toiletries, and the toilet paper holders were already coming loose. The AC in our room often wasn't enough. Check-in and communication during the stay were a bit random. We were asked online for a €1,000 cash deposit, but it was never collected. The information should also say clearly that trash bags, shampoo and soap aren't provided. To the owner's credit, our dishwasher broke and was replaced the next day. I can't imagine that happening in the US!
