Omisalj Hotel Adriatic

The staff were kind and excellent, and the food was very good. I especially loved the cakes. We stayed for 10 nights after booking in May for an August trip, and for the affordable price we got two meals each day. Breakfast had a decent selection, though after a while it felt repetitive, especially having eggs prepared the same way every morning. Our room was clean and tidy, which mattered most to me since I mainly needed somewhere to sleep and shower between days out. The interior looks like it has not changed since the '80s. We had just three power sockets, with only one near a bed, and the reception had no extension cord when I asked. I ended up buying one at Omišalj Shopping Center for 50 kuna, so bring one if you have several devices to charge. The nearby beach looks out directly at the LNG terminal and its huge silos, which is an ugly view. Still, for what we paid, the experience was good value.

The beach is only a few steps away, and the place is peaceful, with everything you need. The buffet food is fantastic, there are lots of choices, and the staff are kind and the service is great. Given that the hotel is old and still waiting for major renovation and refurbishment, Hotel Adriatic and its Depandansa Marina and Primorka are still an excellent choice. Great value for money.

The rooms were badly laid out and smelled very strongly, the service was rude, and the food gave me digestive problems. I don't recommend this hotel. Be careful with the price: the amount quoted at check-in was half what we were told we had to pay. They advised us not to use bookings during registration, and unfortunately we had no record of the quoted price. I would use Booking for the hotel registration so there is proof and the hotel cannot cheat you.

The breakfast was awful, and the location was bad too. The room had a terrible smell and a hard bed. Walking in felt like stepping into World War II. The staff were unkind and did not speak English. They smoked cigarettes in the reception room, which looked like Erich Honecker's living room. I would not recommend this place.
