Hotel Bellevue - Liburnia

By the time we got there after a long, tiring drive, I was hoping to sleep early. Instead, the washbasin was blocked and water had spread across the bathroom floor. A technician came to fix it. Then the air conditioning switched itself off. The hotel phone didn’t work, so I had to go downstairs to tell reception. She said she’d turned it down to regulate the air, but it had actually shut off. It was past midnight and we were exhausted. My husband had just showered and went to dry his hair, only to find the hair dryer didn’t work. This seriously is the worst hotel ever.

The wellness and pool staff were so welcoming and kind, including to our kids. I really appreciate them.

It’s a shame to see the hotel looking so shabby now. It seems to have been allowed to run down, and it must have been stunning in its day. Our shower had mould, the carpets and walls were marked, and the furniture was chipped. A plastic painting sheet was left in the hall for days, and the hallway lights were out. The breakfast room was lovely, but the juice was badly watered down. The staff were nice, but this no longer feels like a four-star hotel, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

With few places open in Abbazia in January, we chose this hotel with half board. It’s in the centre and looks elegant from outside. We got a good accommodation price, but the service was mediocre. The chefs should pay more attention to the dinner’s quality and flavors. We were happy with the servers and the cleaning.
