The village is small but nice, and the hotel is a perfect base for a trip to Plitvice lakes. Nice rooms and friendly people. Best hotel in Otocac!

They were very rude and not hospitable at all. We arrived at midnight, and they knew we had no other choice, so they treated us badly. The hotel's usual room price is 109 Euros, but they said we could only stay in the most expensive room because of our late arrival. At first they said we couldn't bring our dog, then they asked for an extra 30 Euro fee.

I had a very happy stay in this cute little town. The people were friendly, the rooms clean and comfortable, and it was a pleasant spot to relax with some good wine. Check the "nicer" wines on the menu by the bottle, they have great Croatian options.

After a long drive, we stopped early in the night to ask if they had a room for two. They did, and immediately offered us the highest price. Bringing our dog seemed to be a problem, and the host asked with a bad grin whether it was small or big. In the end, they wanted another 30euros for the dog, making 160euros total. This felt like racketeering. We clearly have very different ideas of hospitality. Luckily, in another small town an hour farther along, kind people welcomed us and our dog with a normal price, normal service, and a smile!

The heating in the room was so noisy that earplugs are a must. Breakfast was horribly poor and low quality, with no refills, so if you arrive after 7:30, you'll be left hungry. The hotel is badly maintained and feels more like a two star place than a four star one. The staff are kind, but that can't make up for how badly the quality has deteriorated compared with how it used to be.
