Beach House Poseydon

The ferry from the beach next door goes to Dubrovnik and back for €15. Getting up the hill to the bus stop on the main road is a bit of a trek, though. Right on the beach, the place has a beautiful balcony view, and the bar below serves good food with a lovely outlook. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was reasonably priced, with bread, a choice of cheeses or hams, spreads, and omelets.

We spent 4D 3N here with our family and were glad we chose this hotel. We wanted to stay outside Dubrovnik and avoid its tourist traps. The city is the most expensive place in Croatia, and the meals we had there cost even more than dining in Vienna, where we live. This family-run hotel has a restaurant downstairs, which was really practical for us. For a short stay without a car, it worked well, though you need a taxi to get to a grocery store. We took the boat to Dubrovnik from just a few meters away. The trip was great for the kids, and worth the money. We also liked the secluded beach, which wasn't too crowded. Hotel guests can borrow a parasol and sunbed for free, while others normally have to pay. We'd definitely come back.

Poseydon is a good choice for a day at the beach around Dubrovnik. The beach is relatively quiet, the water is nice, and there are free chairs and umbrellas. It's easy to get to by car. The restaurant and bar serves fresh fish, meat, and pasta at reasonable prices, and the drinks were good and fairly priced too.

My partner had the continental breakfast, and it looked good while I watched her eat. Later we both had burgers and drinks for lunch. It wasn't expensive, and we'd definitely recommend Poseydon to friends and family. Well done!
