The place was quiet, well looked after, and spotlessly clean, with a very comfortable king-size bed. Having meals on site was convenient too, with hearty dinner specials from €20 and a generous breakfast buffet for €15. For anyone arriving by Flixbus at Entrance 1 of Plitvice Lakes, this is a relaxing and practical place to stay.

I picked this place because it was close to Entrance 1 and I wanted to see the waterfall early, before the crowds. Walking to the park entrance was easy, and as a solo traveler I felt safe. From the Entrance 1 bus stop at Plitvice Lakes National Park, it's about a 10-15 minute walk. That might vary a little depending on your luggage and pace. The staff were kind and the food was delicious. I enjoyed a peaceful meal at an outdoor table, and the well-kept garden and area in front of the building were calm day and night. It was lovely to rest quietly before setting off early for my hike.

A 10-minute walk gets you to Entrance 1 of the national park, and there's a restaurant right next door. The owners were very friendly. Our room was really nice, with a fridge and kettle, and we could park right in front of the house.
