Heritage Hotel Liberan

The room was spacious and clean, and the staff made us feel very welcome. We loved the views and atmosphere, and enjoyed every meal at the restaurant. The whole experience was incredible, more than we’d hoped for. We hope to return.

The restaurant is worth trying even if you’re not staying at the hotel, and breakfast was outstanding. We had excellent service, and the rooms felt fresh and modern. The view was one of the best I’ve ever seen. A fantastic hotel and an easy choice for a trip to Croatia. Just be aware that getting a taxi can be tricky if you don’t have a car.

The view takes in nearly all of Podgora and the nearby islands, and the location feels straight out of a movie. Staff were the best I’ve experienced at a hotel, and it was clear they cared about guests’ experience. On our last day, the owner even drove us down to the bus area. The rooms were clean, the amenities were good, and housekeeping was available every day on request. I especially liked the Rituals products they supplied. Breakfast was included and very good, and we had dinner at the restaurant several times too. A wonderful hotel to recommend when visiting makarska. I’ll be back before long.

One thing to keep in mind is the drive up: the road gets steep, winding, and narrow in places, so it may be a challenge for a novice driver. I actually found it fun. Once there, it’s peaceful and quiet, with guests there to relax rather than run around and shout. The staff were welcoming and kind, including the owner and breakfast waiter, and looked after everything we needed. The hotel sits above the Makarska Riviera and is just as picturesque as the photos. Rooms were pretty and comfortable, bathrooms were beautiful, and the pool was blissful with a wonderful view. The breakfast and restaurant terrace had that same view. I couldn’t recommend it more.
