Getting to and from Split by Uber was difficult for us. The road from Podstrana to Split gets busy, and a 10 km ride can take over 40 minutes in bad traffic. We stayed three nights, but the room wasn’t cleaned and nothing was restocked once. On our last full day we ran out of toilet paper. My husband went to the desk, but nobody was there, just a sign saying, “Reception not working.” I messaged them on Booking and got the same response. They never brought any, so we had to walk to the market and buy it ourselves. The room also wasn’t very clean when we arrived: black hair on the back of the toilet seat, stains on the bed, and crumbs on the hardwood floor, which felt gross under bare feet. There was no mattress pad, which seemed unsanitary. The bed had two flat, lumpy pillows. When my husband and I asked for another, the lady, who hardly speaks any English, seemed annoyed that we wanted more than two. She left another flat, lumpy pillow with a torn-up pillowcase on the hallway couch.
