Apollo Rooms- Adults only

We were grateful that our host stayed up late to check us in. The room was just as advertised, with a comfortable bed and great air conditioning. Shops and restaurants are only a few minutes away on foot, the Arena is super close, and we could walk to the ferry as well.

I was first put up at Hotel Sun City Pula, where cars passed less than a metre from the window. There was a horrible smell, and ants and cockroaches in the room, among other problems. I had to move to Apollo rooms, which is run by the same couple. I explained what had happened and asked them to lower the new price. They were asking 50% more than I had originally paid five months before arriving. She accused me of making the problems up and told me to leave the hotel right then, at 9 PM. She also claimed she didn't know her hotel had cockroaches, though several people had apparently found them in at least the previous couple of months. She blamed me for not notifying her in the middle of the night. The room wasn't cleaned once during my seven-day stay, even though the hotel page says cleaning is done daily. The owner said daily cleaning CAN be arranged for an extra charge, and that cleaning every three days was included in the price. Still, nobody cleaned the room all week.

The building's surroundings didn't seem clean or safe. We were also treated disrespectfully and the owner made us feel underestimated. Health problems meant we had to go home, so we asked for some of the money we'd paid back. The owner wouldn't consider it. It felt like keeping the money was all that mattered. They weren't helpful at all, and the experience was disappointing. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Apollo rooms is close to everything you need, and I really recommend staying here. I was very pleased with my stay. The staff were lovely, the service was great, and the rooms were nice and clean.
