Apartments Mare

We had plenty of room, and the apartment had everything we needed. The balconies look straight out to the sea, the beach is close by, and it made a handy base for exploring the island.

I’m sorry to leave such a low rating, but we felt cheated by the owner. This was our fourth visit to Korcula and probably our eleventh at the CHR. The biggest issue was the heat. When we arrived, only one of the four air-conditioning units in the attic apartment worked, and even that one only cooled one bedroom and part of another. The temperature inside climbed above 40°C. We asked through Booking.com about changing apartments and were told the problem would be sorted within two days. After that passed without a response, we followed up and were given another estimate of two to three days. Seven days into our ten-day stay, we were finally told it couldn’t be fixed. We wouldn’t have booked a place where it was 31°C at night. Maybe somewhere in the bush, but not in the EU. The apartment is large, with four bedrooms. Two balconies have lovely views, and the terrace behind the house has a partial sea view. It has potential, but the owner was unfriendly and didn’t seem to understand what providing tourist accommodation involves. Wi-Fi only worked in one room. That wasn’t a big problem for us since we used our own phone data. The house also has an 11 p.m. quiet hour, and after that we were told not to talk on the terrace or even indoors. In my opinion, the apartment didn’t match what was described on Booking.com, and I can’t recommend it.

The owner was very friendly and helpful, and the terraces have lovely views. There are four big bedrooms, along with two kitchens and two bathrooms, in a really spacious apartment.
