Kis Residence

The pool area was pleasant, but the rooms felt characterless, almost like hospital rooms. Breakfast was disappointing too, with rather meager produce and fruit that wasn’t fresh or flavorful. The atmosphere didn’t help: breakfast staff often spoke loudly to each other, and there was no music. We also found our waiter rude, with a few examples that have stuck with us, though there’s no point listing them here. We can laugh about it now. We stayed for around eight nights in September 2023. I was pregnant and didn’t get a chance to write a review before Booking.com timed us out. This is not a four-star property, three at best. Some of the photos feel a bit misleading, and I do wonder whether all the reviews are genuine. We made the best of our time on the island and spent our money elsewhere. Looking back, perhaps you get what you pay for. Korcula is an expensive island, and we had limited options when we booked relatively last minute.

Breakfast was really tasty, and the residence is in a great location. It’s peaceful, with amazing views from the apartment. A beautiful place to stay in Korcula.

Franki is one of the most approachable and helpful hosts I’ve met. When my car broke down, he came to pick me up and drove me across the island. His suggestions for swimming, meals, and sunset views made the holiday memorable. Kis Residency is a lovely, quiet place, and we enjoyed more than five days there. There’s lots of open space for hiking, swimming, and being out in nature. It’s family run, and you can feel the care in the personal touches, especially at breakfast. I’m sure Kis Residency will become one of my favorite places. Hope to see our friends from Kis again soon.

The setting is stunning, with well-kept gardens full of lavender, olive and fruit trees, and homegrown vegetables. The owners care for the place with real heart and humility, and they’re very friendly. I travel often and don’t impress easily, but this was just the kind of retreat I needed to unwind and refocus. The residence is beautifully situated, spotless, carefully maintained, and wonderfully peaceful in these turbulent times. We’ll definitely be back!
