The walk to the beach took about 45 minutes and was great. We could take the dogs along, then swim in the sea. The holiday house was great too, with a really nice pool.

We had everything we needed in the house during our stay from August 30th to September 13th, 2025, and felt very comfortable there. The pool area could have used a parasol, especially since one appears in earlier photos. Still, it was a wonderful holiday.

We especially enjoyed the foosball table, and the kids had Kika, the German children's channel, plus a few other popular channels. The bedrooms are brand new, unlike in the photos, and we were given huge, fluffy new towels. The house itself is relatively new and well furnished. There were lots of wasps coming to drink, though they weren't aggressive. Rakalj is a charming little town with a small shop for essentials. A few small coves are close by, under 10 minutes by car, and the house's slightly elevated position often brings a pleasant breeze. It's a fantastic house with a pool in the Istrian mountains.
