Plitvice Holiday Resort - Campsite

We cut our family holiday short and left early because the facilities and surroundings weren’t what we expected when travelling with three young children. The resort had been a major disappointment from the moment we arrived. We booked Plitvice Holiday Resort for its family facilities and pool, which looked beautiful online and helped justify the high price of £285 a night. Before the trip, we were told construction was happening but reassured that all facilities would stay open. In practice, building work affected the resort heavily, and parts of the pool area and access were closed. It didn’t feel like the relaxing family stay we’d been led to expect. Later, the resort said the pool was technically open through another entrance, but nobody made that clear to us at the time, and the experience still fell short of the premium family resort we thought we’d booked. We also dispute the claim that guests could change or cancel their booking after the construction email. That option wasn’t in the message we received. When we raised our concerns afterwards, the response felt dismissive and defensive. Instead of recognizing how the disruption affected our family holiday, they focused on technicalities and contradictions. The stay didn’t match the price or the expectations set before we arrived.

The architecture was lovely, and we had a great stay in our tent on a lovely patch of grass and gravel. The sanitary building was beautiful and spotless, with a rain shower. The pool was nice too, and the facilities overall were excellent. Staff at the bar were friendly. By the entrance there’s a small supermarket, with a restaurant beside it serving good food at a fair price. Definitely five stars!

Nature all around, spotless cleanliness, frogs singing and squirrels stopping for a drink. The design is so well thought out, the staff are kind, and there’s a cool playground and street workout area. The breakfast was amazing. Heaven on Earth! 🤩

We had a really lovely, relaxing stay. The site and pool area were clean, and the facilities were spotless and very good. Check-in was friendly, and the staff stayed helpful and welcoming throughout. It’s easy to reach the National Park by bus from right outside the site. The shop at the entrance has a fresh bakery inside. We didn’t try the restaurant, so can’t comment on it.
