Apartmani Zen

The apartment is roomy, but the kitchen had ants. The garage was useful for storing our bikes, and the neighborhood is beautiful. We’ll come back to the area, but stay somewhere else next time. We rented two apartments in the house for our two families, while a third family stayed about 100 meters away at Mija's house. When we arrived, we paid a €100 security deposit and were told what we could and couldn’t do. The rules are posted on the wall, including a ban on guests. We have small children and wanted our friends, who don’t have children, to visit in the evening. We’ve done this before without trouble, since we can’t leave the kids alone, but we weren’t allowed to here. The owner also said she didn’t want to see our friends on the shared terrace because of a disagreement about their dog. Our friends stayed at Mija's house, which allows dogs, and took the dog to the public beach. There was no beach ban, and the dog was lying under a tree, not swimming. The owners of Zen's house confronted them aggressively and told them to take the dog away. Our friends refused because they have the right to keep it with them. When we left, the €100 deposit was returned only after an inspection of every nook and cranny. In 15 years of traveling to Croatia, I’ve never had that happen. I understand wanting to look after a property, but being treated like a thief felt strange. Other landlords care about keeping things in order without demanding an inspection or deposit. I’m giving two stars because of the ants and the way we were treated.

The little stone beach is only 30 meters away, but don’t expect nightlife. The center is 2.5 km away. Our apartment was spacious, clean, fully equipped, and everything worked out fine. It had a small balcony and a big outdoor grill. The apartments for more than four people have a larger terrace or balcony.

We had a really pleasant stay. The hosts were extremely kind and helpful, and the apartment was beautiful and spacious in a great location. Thank you!
