Rooms Mariana

My summer holiday was nearly ruined when the property cancelled my reservation over an "overbooking issue" just two weeks before I was due to arrive, right in the middle of summer. I never actually saw the place, so I can't comment on whether it's nice or clean. I can't give more than one disappointed star.

There wasn't a kitchen or anything to cook with, just a small water boiler. We also had no utensils, plates, or extra garbage bags. The room itself was clean, and the staff were polite.

Being able to walk all the way to the city center was very convenient, and we could even see the sea through the open windows. Our clean room had a large mirror and refrigerator, though only one chair. There were very few outlets, so using the kettle meant unplugging the TV; its short cord kept it stuck in the cupboard, where the steam was unpleasant. The bathroom was long but so narrow that my knees would hit the wall unless I sat at an angle, and it had no shelf and just a small trash can. Noise carried through the room, including from inside the building after 11 p.m. There was free parking around the house, although the street got narrow in places. The garden had lots of fruit and vegetables, some hanging over the path and making it harder to reach the entrance. Inside, steep stairs led up to the rooms, so be ready for quite a few steps. Our room was right across from the stairs. We stayed for a city trip to Rovinj.

The room was spacious and very clean, with new furniture, but it was noisy. The shower was tucked into a corner and very small, with a curtain, and the bathroom floor stayed wet.
