Villa Sveta Eufemija - Bed And Breakfast

We brought our dog, and they charged 12 EUR per night for each dog. The personnel were very friendly and flexible. Breakfast was delicious and filling, and the coffee was good, though not excellent. Our room was quite large but dark, and the bathroom was extremely small. We didn’t understand all the fuss about parking. Apart from that, it was perfect. The location is between the beach and old town, about a 15-20 minute walk from either.

We stayed two nights on a last-minute trip to Rovinj, and I wouldn’t come back. We called ahead because we’d arrive late, but the woman running the Vila hung up on us and then wouldn’t answer when we called again. We had to contact the booking agency, which eventually reached them, and then the Villa sent the key information by WhatsApp. That was a sign of how things would go. The first day, we were told to pay for the room, even though we’d already paid. After we found the payment confirmation, the woman changed her mind and said we owed tourist tax, which we paid. At checkout, the same very rude woman again claimed we hadn’t paid for something, this time breakfast. She showed us a booking confirmation for 221 euros, but we’d paid 250 euros for the room with breakfast included. We tried to find proof, but because of her extremely rude behavior, we paid for breakfast just so we could leave as soon as possible. It cost 32 euros for two people for two days and wasn’t very good. If we’d known breakfast would cost extra, we’d have gone elsewhere and had a nice breakfast for half the price. I don’t recommend this place. They’re trying to scam tourists by charging again for services already paid for.

The accommodation was okay, and the room was clean, with a fridge and air conditioning. There’s parking too. We had a small dog, and they charged us 15 euros per night, while the other guests paid only 10 euros. We checked. I don’t understand why they treated us differently, and we feel cheated. :(

The vintage look of Villa Eufemia and the balconies made for a lovely stay, and our room's little fridge came in handy. Parking was easy thanks to the large lot, and breakfast is available on the terrace for an extra 60 kn per person per day, with indoor seating if the weather turns. The staff were especially kind: since it was our first time in Rovinj, the woman who greeted us gave us a map and guide and explained how to reach the beach and center, plus what was nearby. She mentioned Maslina and Konzum, though I wouldn't recommend either. It's about a 10-minute walk to Punta Corrente or Cuvi Beach and 15 minutes to the Old Town. A few things could be better: the Wi-Fi in our room was awful, there weren't many outlets, and the bathroom ceiling was so low that neither my 170 cm girlfriend nor I, who am taller, could shower comfortably. Housekeeping was a bit unpredictable, missing one day and arriving at 2 pm the next while we were napping, with no do-not-disturb sign available. Ask for a room away from the street if you can, traffic is loud all night. None of that spoiled the vacation for us, though, and for a moderately priced place, I'd recommend it.
