Service was pleasant and the prices were reasonable. My cevapi was quite flavourful and extremely filling, with eight small ground beef sausages between two enormous, thick pieces of pita bread, topped with ajvar, a relatively bland red pepper sauce. My wife has celiac disease, and the only gluten-free dish available was salty grilled chicken. She ordered a side salad, but it was very plain. There were no safe carbohydrate choices for her, such as rice, potatoes, or fries. The menu also had pizza, pasta, burgers, and plain salads. This roadside place down the road from Plitvice National Park wasn’t recommended for celiacs. It was unremarkable in appearance and food quality, like a Croatian roadside diner with meals that fill you up and are forgotten the next day.

The food really impressed us, especially my son, who wants to try making it at home. The staff were friendly, though service was slower than we’d experienced elsewhere. Since I was driving, I envied the people enjoying large beers. My wife recognized the restaurant’s theme from the 1964 German-Yugoslavian western "Old Shatterhand," which she remembered from growing up in Slovakia. The decor had lots of pictures and ornaments related to the story. Despite the mixed reviews, we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Trip Advisor says it’s cash only, but I paid by card at the bar. I’d happily return, with someone else driving and a bigger appetite.

The food was pretty good, and I had the BBQ burger and fries. Prices were very reasonable. We were greeted right away and seated at a nice outdoor area, and the initial service was quick. My only complaint was the wait to pay. After I finished, the server disappeared for quite a while, and it took a good 10 to 15 minutes before I saw him again.

The cevapi was delicious and the portion was big enough to share. It’s a beautiful restaurant with a nice outdoor patio, and the service was friendly and welcoming. A very nice experience.

My favorite place when I’m craving good BBQ, great food, and a fun time. It never disappoints, and the customer service is exceptional!
