Villa Roth

All good.

The beach is very close, and we had no complaints about the location. The apartment itself was average: old furnishings, but clean, with comfortable beds and working air conditioning. The biggest issue was that the place wasn’t independent, even though that wasn’t mentioned on Booking and the host had told us in messages that it was. The owners lived on the floor, and another family with a small child was staying there too. We were eight friends hoping to have some carefree fun during our three-day stay, and that was spoiled right from the first minute. For the rental price, that felt really unfair. Check-out was another bad experience. Booking said we could leave by 10 a.m., but at 8 a.m. on departure day the owner told us their house rule was to be out by 9, or 9:30 at the latest, because cleaners were arriving at 10. It left us rushing around. For nearly 1,000 euros, I can’t recommend this place with those problems.

The beach is right below the garden, and it never felt crowded. Villa Roth is tucked into a quiet street in Silo, even though the village gets a lot of tourists in summer. The garden is lovely and well cared for, with several fully separate apartments, each with its own garden or terrace. There’s a closed private parking area, and a shop next door was just right for our six-day stay this year. Inside, everything was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen had plenty of equipment. There’s air conditioning, but the house design and the garden’s microclimate meant we didn’t need it. The owner stays in a separate apartment there during summer, so they’re easy to reach. They were helpful, friendly, and flexible. Gordana is an angel and speaks at least four languages. Sándor is a very nice, straightforward gentleman, and it was a big surprise when he spoke Hungarian with us. Villa Roth made for a truly quiet, peaceful break. I loved every minute. We’ve been twice, and it definitely won’t be the last time. I can only recommend it. Thanks for everything, Villa Roth ❤️!

The host was lovely, and the villa was beautiful and well cared for, with a gorgeous garden. The beach is about five minutes away.
