Villa Marco Polo

It was great value for money, and the setting was nice. Staff were kind and sorted out problems as they came up. Access to the beach was excellent, and the buffet breakfasts and dinners were mostly delicious. Other guests were friendly too, which made for a nice atmosphere throughout our stay. Our first room was small and faced the street, and we couldn’t sleep well there. We had to open the windows for air, but then every car and motorbike came through loud and clear, and bugs got in and bit us in several places. The mattresses were awful and felt like a bouncy castle. After two days a bigger room with a balcony facing the sea became available, so we moved. That was great, and the mattresses were much better. There’s no lift, which can make carrying small children and luggage a pain. Lunch was a bit lacking, but you can cancel it in advance and eat out. Things might change from year to year, so it’s best to call or email to check. I wouldn’t recommend staying if only the small street-facing rooms are available. I can’t imagine spending a whole holiday in one.

The rooms are comfortable and have air conditioning, the food is delicious, and the service is brilliant. Villa Marco Polo is a lovely place to spend a week with family or friends, with a chance to take in all the beauty of nature. Definitely come and visit Villa Marco Polo!

Avoid this place! The food is poor, the rooms are dirty, and the owners are rude. It’s far too expensive for somewhere that doesn’t even deserve one star.

The host is kind and helpful, and the food was really good every day. It’s a very good location, about 20 m from the beach.
