The stairs up to the second floor, where the living area is, weren’t shown in the pictures and are dangerous, more like a ladder. Getting up at night to use the bathroom would be a serious problem. We came for two days because the garden looked beautiful, but the place was dirty and dusty, and the shower floor had mold. You could smell the dust and mold as soon as you walked in. My asthmatic wife started having allergy symptoms, so we had to leave after one day. The owner showed no sympathy or embarrassment about the condition of the place. She focused on getting paid and demanded payment for both nights. She was aggressive and unpleasant. In short, it’s a neglected, dirty property managed by an incompetent person.

The food was great, and sitting outside right by the water with little waterfalls all around made for a memorable stop. The location is amazing. Service was a bit slow, though not unreasonable. Since we had to pay for parking, we ran out of time to explore and would have had to pay admission to do so. If you know about those costs and leave enough time, it’s a fun place with great food.

The little houses are lovely, and the wooden bridges make the walks between the garden viewpoints a treat. We climbed the steep steps to the waterfall by the river, then wandered around to see the rest of the gardens. We arrived early and had the place to ourselves. Definitely worth stopping for.
